Job Description: The Welcome Center Engagement Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and Chamber members interacting with the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce. This role supports the Chamber’s mission by providing a warm, knowledgeable, and service-oriented experience for all who visit, call, or inquire. The coordinator maintains the Welcome Center, provides community and business information, and assists with general office support and Chamber events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet and assist walk-in visitors, members, and tourists in a professional and welcoming manner.
First to respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries about Spring Hill, the Chamber programs, membership, and local resources.
Maintain the appearance and informational materials of the Welcome Center (maps, brochures, business cards, etc.).
Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador of the Spring Hill community—providing accurate information on local businesses, attractions, services, and events.
Maintain a database of inquiries, referrals, and visitor feedback for tracking and improvement purposes.
Collaborate with Chamber staff to ensure a consistent, positive visitor experience that reflects the Chamber’s brand and mission.
Remain knowledgeable about phone procedures
Direct appointments within the building
Fulfill/mail visitor guide requests
Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment
Maintain the point-of-sale system
Maintain a stocked and merchandised retail floor, creating labels and ensuring no damaged items as needed
Track supplies for Welcome Center gift shop (e.g., bags, tissue paper, ribbon, baskets, snacks, drinks, etc.)
Assist with inventory count (quarterly and annual)
Stage welcome center and decorate Welcome Center/entry for holidays
Occasionally load, set up, and work Welcome Center information booth at local events
Maintain relationships with tourism partners
Promote www.experiencespringhill.com as an ongoing resource
Provide support to all staff members
Other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of local attractions and information
Computer efficiency, demonstrated ability with the Google Office platform, spreadsheets, and CRM systems
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work well with the general public
Ability to work well with staff and volunteers
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude
Ability to multitask
Ability to occasionally work on Saturdays
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School or GED equivalent.
At least 2 years of customer service, hospitality experience and/or training preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
